Club Information

Waverley Basketball Club was formed in 1974 and is part of domestic program of the Melbourne East Basketball Association (MEBA). The primary aim of the club is to provide as many opportunities as possible for young girls and boys to play and enjoy basketball. The club is committed to promoting basketball, sportsmanship and team play among children - from beginners through to experienced players.

Waverley Basketball Club is one of the biggest local junior basketball clubs. Our members’ ages range from 6 to 21 years old, and we have girls and boys teams in each age group. Each season, the club enters a large number of teams into both the midweek and Saturday competitions where players play games against other domestic clubs. For the midweek competition, our mixed under 8 and girls’ teams play on Monday afternoons/evenings and our boys’ teams play on Friday afternoons/evenings. All age groups and genders play on Saturdays in the Saturday competition.

Please note - players who have played for at least two domestic seasons are eligible to register to play in a midweek team. All other players can play in the Saturday competition.

Our club is made up entirely of volunteers and we cannot function without support from our parent community. Parents and friends can volunteer to be a coach or team manager, and/or even join our committee. Our committee meets once a month and new members are always welcome. Thank you to everyone that contributes to our club.
